We understand the important role loved ones play in the healing and recovery process, that's why there are no "visiting hours." Guests are invited to visit as long as they'd like, keeping in mind our patient's need for rest.
Family members are welcome to remain overnight when appropriate. Each patient room is designed with sleeping accomodations.
Family members
Family members can visit patients at any time. If you are visiting a family
member after 8:00 pm, you will be asked to check in at the Emergency Department welcome desk. For the safety and security of our patients, staff
and guests, only the hospital's emergency entrance is open
after 8:00 pm.

Woodwinds recognizes that a person's spirit needs care to help restore health and maintain wellness. During times of illness, injury or significant life events (such as birth or death), it is especially important to attend to spiritual and emotional needs.
Regardless of your faith tradition or culture, Spiritual Care staff - called chaplains - offer assistance by:
Listening
Praying
Offering Sacraments
Facilitating communication
Helping process difficult decisions and ethical concerns
To request a visit from a chaplain
A chaplain is available for personal visits and sacraments. To request a chaplain, ask a nurse for assistance or call the Spiritual Care department at 651-232-0062. On evenings and weekends, call the Woodwind's operator at 651-232-0100.
Chaplains are available 24 hours a day for emergency situations.
Hospital chapel
Our multi-denominational chapel is located near the elevators on the Woodland level. It is always open for prayer and reflection. This sacred environment contains a water element, live plants, stained glass, a candle and music. Bibles, other sacred texts, prayer request cards and Care Notes are available in the chapel area.
Channel 78 in the hospital is available 24 hours a day and contains sacred music and an inside view of the chapel.
Connecting with the faith community
Your pastor, priest, rabbi or spiritual leader is always welcome and encouraged to visit .
If you would like Woodwinds to contact your place of worship or pastor/spiritual leader, please call 651-232-0062 .
Sacraments and sacred rituals
Catholic Mass is celebrated in the hospital chapel on Tuesdays at noon. The service can be viewed in patient rooms on channel 78.
Catholic patients/families are offered the Eucharist daily and Anointing of the Sick upon request.
We encourage Protestant Communion to be brought by the patient's own clergy.
If a patient/family desires a spiritual ceremony from another spiritual tradition, it can be arranged through the Spiritual Care department.
The healing gardens at Woodwinds are a natural extension of the healing environment we’ve created inside the hospital. The gardens and paths are intended to nurture the spirits of all patients, families, physicians and employees.
Thanks to the remarkable generosity of our friends, physicians and employees, we are proud to showcase nature’s grandeur growing in the woodlands that surround our hospital. The gardens were thoughtfully planned to enhance the senses and encourage calming moments, reflection and meditation.
CaringBridge is a free online service to keep friends and family — your caring community — in touch and informed during important life events including medical treatment, childbirth or adoption.
CaringBridge is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, offering free web pages to those receiving care since 1997. It was started after an unbelievable reaction to a Web page created for a premature baby.
CaringBridge has grown steadily since 1997 and as of mid-2007, it has hosted more than 66,000 CaringBridge websites and had nearly 425 million visits and 10 million guestbook messages of hope and encouragement.
The CaringBridge experience is unique for both authors and visitors in its immediacy, intimacy and wide-reaching impact. CaringBridge brings together a global community of care powered by the love of family and friends in an easy, accessible and private way.

Young and old alike may be thrilled to visit our Nature of Healing Snoopy. Located by the Woods Café, this Peanuts character was one of many statues in the 2002 Peanuts on Parade event in St. Paul. It was brought to Woodwinds by the Woodwinds Circle of Giving in gratitude for the gifts contributed by David and Mary Jo Monson. Feel free to have your photo taken with Snoopy-this is a favorite of families with their newborns.
